This article analyzes the concept of “disembodied warfare” in the 21st century—warfare that transcends physical battlefields and increasingly relies on artificial intelligence (AI) and cyberwarfare as primary weapons. Drawing on the case study of the escalating conflict between the United States and Iran in 2026, the report illustrates how structural violence now unfolds through advanced technological systems rather than conventional armed confrontation.
As a constructive response, the article proposes the framework of Buddhist AI Peacebuilding, which applies the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path to algorithmic design grounded in compassion and ethical responsibility. The aim is to reduce hatred and hostility within the digital sphere by embedding moral awareness into technological systems.
This strategy emphasizes the cultivation of practical wisdom, ensuring that technology functions as a mechanism for conflict prevention and peace promotion rather than as a force multiplier of violence. Ultimately, the article stresses that the key to ending modern forms of warfare lies not merely in machine intelligence, but in nurturing inner peace within the human heart—alongside sustainable technological governance.
