The Accharā Sutta, found in the Samyutta Nikāya of the Pāli Canon, presents profound teachings that can be applied to building sustainable world peace by overcoming delusion, fear, and conflict.
The discourse begins with a deva asking the Buddha how beings can escape a dense forest of delusion, filled with enchanting celestial nymphs and haunted by evil spirits.
The Buddha replied that the path to liberation is the "Straight Path"—the direction free from danger. He compared this journey to riding a chariot whose wheels are the Dhamma. Moral shame (Hiri) forms its protective covering, mindfulness (Sati) serves as its shield, and Right View (Sammā Diṭṭhi) acts as the charioteer guiding the traveler.
The Buddha declared that anyone—whether man or woman—who possesses these virtues can reach the ultimate destination of Nibbāna by traveling in this Chariot of Dhamma.
Peace scholars suggest that the "forest of delusion" today symbolizes misinformation, greed, hatred, violent extremism, and geopolitical conflicts that continue to threaten humanity.
Likewise, the "Chariot of Dhamma" represents ethical leadership, integrity, mindfulness, wisdom, and right understanding as essential foundations for global governance and peaceful coexistence.
Experts emphasize that lasting peace cannot be achieved solely through military strength or political agreements. Genuine peace begins with inner transformation. When individuals and leaders cultivate moral conscience, mindfulness, compassion, and wisdom, conflicts naturally diminish, paving the way for international cooperation and sustainable peace.
Thus, the Accharā Sutta is more than an ancient Buddhist discourse—it serves as a timeless spiritual roadmap guiding humanity beyond ignorance, fear, and violence toward a future founded upon wisdom, compassion, and enduring peace.
“อัจฉราสูตร” สู่การสร้างสันติภาพโลก ชี้ “ธรรมเป็นยานแห่งสันติ” นำมนุษยชาติพ้นความหลงและความหวาดกลัว
หลักธรรมใน อัจฉราสูตร พระไตรปิฎก เล่มที่ 15 พระสุตตันตปิฎก เล่มที่ 7 สังยุตตนิกาย สคาถวรรค อัจฉราสูตรที่ 6 ได้สะท้อนหลักคิดสำคัญในการก้าวข้ามความหลง ความหวาดกลัว และความขัดแย้ง ซึ่งสามารถประยุกต์ใช้เป็นแนวทางในการสร้างสันติภาพโลกได้อย่างลึกซึ้ง

พระพุทธเจ้าตรัสตอบว่า ทางที่จะพ้นจากความหลงคือ “ทางตรง” ซึ่งเป็นทิศที่ปราศจากภัย เปรียบเสมือนการเดินตามหลักธรรม โดยมี “ธรรม” เป็นล้อของยาน มี “หิริ” หรือความละอายต่อบาปเป็นเครื่องคุ้มครอง มี “สติ” เป็นเกราะป้องกัน และมี “สัมมาทิฏฐิ” หรือความเห็นชอบเป็นสารถีคอยนำทาง
พระองค์ทรงยืนยันว่า ไม่ว่าผู้เดินทางจะเป็นหญิงหรือชาย หากมีคุณธรรมดังกล่าว ย่อมสามารถเดินทางสู่พระนิพพานได้ด้วยยานแห่งธรรมนี้

อัจฉราสูตรจึงมิได้เป็นเพียงพระธรรมเทศนาในอดีต หากยังเป็น "แผนที่ทางจิตวิญญาณ" ที่ชี้แนะแนวทางให้มนุษยชาติเดินออกจากความหลง ความหวาดกลัว และความรุนแรง สู่โลกที่ตั้งอยู่บนปัญญา ความเมตตา และสันติภาพอย่างยั่งยืน

อัจฉราสูตรที่ ๖ [๑๔๓] เทวดาทูลถามว่า ป่าชัฏชื่อโมหนะ อันหมู่นางอัปสรประโคมแล้ว อันหมู่ ปีศาจสิงอยู่แล้ว ทำไฉนจึงจะหนีไปได้ ฯ [๑๔๔] พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสตอบว่า ทางนั้นชื่อว่าเป็นทางตรง ทิศนั้นชื่อว่าไม่มีภัย รถชื่อว่าไม่มี เสียงดัง ประกอบด้วยล้อคือธรรม หิริเป็นฝาของรถนั้น สติเป็นเกราะกั้นของรถนั้น เรากล่าวธรรมมีสัมมาทิฏฐินำหน้า ว่าเป็นสารถี ยานชนิดนี้มีอยู่แก่ผู้ใด จะเป็นหญิงหรือชาย ก็ตาม เขา (ย่อมไป) ในสำนักพระนิพพานด้วยยาน นี้แหละ ฯ
