Buddhist scholars suggest that the teachings of the Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta, found in the Majjhima Nikaya of the Sutta Pitaka, may offer an important answer to this challenge. As technological competition intensifies around the world, the Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta is being reinterpreted as a timeless framework for cultivating “inner peace,” which can ultimately contribute to sustainable “outer peace.” When individuals develop mindfulness, self-awareness, and insight into reality, they are better able to use AI and other innovations with wisdom, responsibility, and compassion for the long-term benefit of humanity.
