Global Forum Debates the Future of AGI, Suggests “Buddhist Logic” May Help Resolve AI’s Epistemic Crisis

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 marked a significant gathering of leading pioneers in artificial intelligence to discuss the complex future of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and its far-reaching implications. Global experts presented diverse perspectives, addressing advances in world models, risks arising from undesirable machine behaviors, and the limitations of current large language models.

The discussions connected technical issues with Buddhist philosophy, drawing on concepts such as yoniso manasikāra (wise reflection) and the Five Aggregates (pañcakkhandha) as potential frameworks for resolving AI’s epistemological and ethical challenges. Participants also proposed integrating principles of loving-kindness (mettā), compassion (karuṇā), and the Noble Eightfold Path into safety engineering in order to build greater trust in emerging technologies.

For Thailand, this represents an important opportunity to leverage its cultural and philosophical foundations to become a leader in AI ethics while preparing for future labor transformations. Ultimately, the true challenge lies not merely in advancing machine intelligence, but in embedding wisdom and empathy into digital architectures for the sustainable well-being of humanity.
