On September 28, 2566 (Buddhist Era), Mr. Chai Watthana, the spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Mr. Settha Thaweesin has decided to forward his monthly salary and meeting allowances received during his tenure as Prime Minister and Minister of Finance to various charitable foundations to assist those in need.
Mr. Chai stated that the Prime Minister believes in the importance of giving, and it depends on each individual's faith. The Prime Minister is committed to leading by example. The government has implemented numerous policies aimed at creating happiness and improving the well-being of the Thai people, especially in the field of education. Education plays a crucial role in reducing social disparities, ensuring that at-risk children remain within the system, and receive continuous education. Therefore, all the salary and position allowances of the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, totaling 125,590 baht per month (Prime Minister's salary: 75,590 baht, position allowance: 50,000 baht), will be forwarded to vulnerable groups. This can be done immediately, but what it cannot replace is the government's duty to support various foundations, which can be faster than relying on the government system, which requires time due to legislative processes and parliamentary mechanisms.

Furthermore, Mr. Chai mentioned that the selection of organizations to receive assistance will be determined by a team. Initially, the donations will be directed to the "Foundation for Children," which supports children in basic living conditions, quality physical and mental development, welfare, and education, ensuring that they integrate into the education system properly. As stated, forwarding the monthly salary is just the beginning. The Prime Minister aims to meet with various organizations to listen to their voices, understand their problems, and address the challenges faced by foundations in order to find solutions for the future.
